Essentially a place of comfort from which to explore the attractions of its natural environment, Plateau brings culture to its pristine environment. Platbos Reserve, the home of Plateau, is enclosed by the Tsitsikamma National Park and enjoys privacy from any form of development. Here guests can experience the diverse ecosystem of Afromontane forest and Cape fynbos intimately, without sacrificing comfort. Follow the decked walkway through the private forest, past the lake to the Erica Falls in the Grootkloof.
Dedicated to the health of both its natural environment, and that of its guests, Plateau offers more than accommodation. In the kitchen, low fat “pan” style cooking conjures delights free from artificial flavourants, colourants and preservatives. Select wine from the collection in the underground cellar or simply enjoy a cigar in the lounge here. A gymnasium with a massage room and saunas provides opportunity to keep up the program. The library feeds the mind a balanced diet of science & fiction, from Dutch to Finnish.

Directions to Plateau Country House:
From the Tsitsikamma Plaza Tollgate on the N2: Take the exit at the Tollgate marked “Nature’s Valley/Bloukrans Pass”. Turn toward Nature’s Valley. Travel 3.8 km through indigenous forest (National Park). Plateau will be on your left and the entrance is well signposted. Co-ordinates: S 33°56'55.4" E 23°35'02.9"
